I applaud the Governor’s leadership.
"Mike Morath is an innovator, a business leader, and a school reform champion who will have an outstanding tenure as Education Commissioner. Mike knows that government doesn’t hold all of the answers to education, and he believes in empowering parents, students, and teachers with school choice. He is a proven leader and fearless innovator who will take on the challenges in public education. His private sector business acumen coupled with his reform-focused tenure as a Dallas Independent School District trustee make him uniquely qualified to serve as Texas Education Commissioner, where he can propel education in Texas to the next level.
"By selecting Dallas’-own Mike Morath as Education Commissioner, the Governor has made the best possible choice. It is indeed a new day in Texas."
